Has anyone installed the gearless diff locker in the Rubicon yet??? If so, how good does it work? Also has anyone installed the two wheel four wheel option yet?? Thanks

 

I have had the gearless since it was the prototype model. I love it and wouldnt own a Honda without one. I have riden with it and the unlocker at the same time and you dont know its there at all.

 

So have you tested it to be sure it is offering true 4x4? Do you find it makes the quad harder to steer in 4x4? This is why I was going to do the combo, both the diff lock and the 2/4 mode.

 

It is 100% pure 4wd. It is an impossibility for it to be 3wd. Its not much harder to steer. The only place I notice it is while on pavement. When in 2wd mode you will never notice it.

 

TexMud, I just saw this post. What is this gearless diff locker? Is this something just for Hondas? Can you explain how it works? Thanks.

 

It locks up the front end but still allows for easier steering. If you know much about trucks then you will recogize the maker of it. Its acutally a Detroit Gearless Locker for ATVs. HL got with TracTech and developed one for ATVs. They have them for the Rubicon, Rancher, Vinson, and Foreman for now with more models to follow.
