Prairie 360 and Recon did a 27 mile trail today - Mississippi
#1
On the Rattlesnake Bay ATV trail at New Augusta, Mississippi. My Magellan Meridian GPS said I road 27 miles, the trail is advertized at 30 miles. I have had a speedometer/odometer on order since I bought the 360 on 3-22-02.
It was very dusty with very few water holes. The few there were I by-passed, since I have no winch. We had to ride about a minute apart because of the dust. My 360 consumed 1.75 gallons of gas while the 2000 Honda Recon used .95 of a gallon. The 360 was a much nicer ride, however the front tires were more easily turned by the ruts and roots than the Recon. I drove both machines about an equal amount. The 360 was driven in 2 wheel drive 99% of the time. You could feel the vibration in the floorboards quite a bit (about the same as the Recon), but little in the handle bars and seat. I rode the 360 for about 20 minutes then stopping and put ear plugs in because of the noise this thing puts out. We were riding between 5 and 15 mph. The course took about 4 hrs to complete.
This was my first outing with the 360 outside of 60 acres next to the house. I was on my 3rd tank a gas in the 360.

My co-worker just bought a 360 and we went on a 42 mile ride at my deer lease the other day.
I was wondering if your fan stays on most of the time your riding? His would cut on and off, but ran much more than my 400 prarie. It also revved higher than my 400, but less than my dads 300 prarie at like speeds.

The fan does go on and off quite a bit, I do not have another machine with a fan to compare it too. It does rev higher and is noiser than I like, but then again I have only my Recon to compare to and I know the Recon is quite compared to any belt driven ATV. We do have a Kaw. Mule and it does not sound near as loud as the 360. But it does seem to have all the power that I need.
