I live in Oregon and we have had titles for as long as I can remember....until NOW.. I got a letter from the DMV a couple of weeks ago stating that they are no longer going to issues titles UNLESS requested and that reg and offroad permits are now gonna be bought at bike shops for $10 every 2 years

In OREGON I got my letter in the mail back in 1996 saying that they no longer title my XR250 and i got the letter for my quad last month.. Really sux if yours gets stolen as any theif can ride it leagly. The new tags are $10 and sold threw the park service,, it funds enviromentl studies and they have used the money to close trails that are in sensituve areas and anywhere else they feel the need.. Oregon is headed south and if Gore or Bradly gets in the house we are sunk

Michigan has a title requirement and must have an ORV sticker that costs 16.50 per year, if you use the ORV anywhere but private property including lakes!!!

How are u going to get insurance on your bike with out a title? all bikes in pa come with titles when u buy them. How can people sell 2 year old bikes in pa without titles and tell me they dont come with one from the dealer.

I know that Missouri and Kansas both have titling requirements. I also have full coverage insurance on my 99 400EX. It's cheap and definitely worth it. For 200 bucks a year, I get a 100 dollar deductible, which covers theft, accidents, property damage and personal injury. I think it's a good idea to have insurance for those reasons.
