Too much water for SP90

Went riding this weekend on the red river TX/OK, and while splashing through the stream my daughters new SP90 stalled. Could not get it started. After about an hour and many manual kick starts if finally began to run. My guess was water on the plug? Anyone had simular problems ? Any modification I can do to help in the future ?

probably got the air filter wet....Thats happened to me many times

I have had similar problems on my 97 sp500. I was lost. Go splashing through water pretty quick, and dead for like 20 minutes. I was lost. Wasn't the ignition. Everytime I washed it, it would be the exact same way. Embarrasing. Finally, before washing one day, I tried putting the choke fully on. After washing, boom, started RIGHT up. Explain that one. Works every time though. I don't know the closed choke is preventing water from splasing down passed it into the carb or what. It works perfectly though. Give it a try if you are having similar problems.
