Scrambler oil change

I believe the manual says every 100 hours, which does not seem soon enough for my liking. I change mine every 40 hours or so. If your quad is in the break in period change it its first time after 15 - 20 hours or so. If your quad is still under warranty it would be better to just let the dealer do it, that way it is a recorded oil change. If you ended up with motor issues and didn't have the recorded oil change they might say it was never done, voiding the warranty.
The Polaris manual says to just drain the oil from the oil tank. This leaves about a cup of dirty oil in the motor. There is a drain plug under the counter balance part of the motor case where you can remove the rest of the dirty oil. You need to remove the skid plate to get at it. You should also remove the hose and fitting at the lower rear of the oil tank. There is a screen that you need to clean. You should do this at least the first couple of oil changes. Don't forget to clean the metal particles of the magnetic drain plugs.
