Ok guys I have a question How hard do you think it would be to put a crf 450 engine into a 400ex chassis? Has anyone done this yet?? How hard was it for you? I want to do this very bad!!! I want to build a sweet xc racer but not race just at small events. Please respond.

It's already been in one of the magazines. Check your Dirt Wheels, ATV Action or ATV Sport over the last 2 issues.
Everyboddy's making frames for them already but you've got the right idea by using the 400ex frame. Nice and cheap easy to find. If you do it, make sure you reinforce the frame. Good Luck.

 

I saw a 450F engine in a 400ex chassis at the local oval races last weekend. Looked fairly straight forward as far as an engine swap goes.

 

all it takes is money money money mooooneeey... mooooneeey...

 

There was a guy in the may issue of dirtwheels that done it, he said the engine fit right in there with just a couple small adjustments to the frame.
