Banshee with Dyno-Ports...SSSSSLLLLLLOOOOOOWWWWWWW?
#1
Hey Guys,
Last night I drove a Banshee with Dyno Ports on it (two pipes, two silencers) and I have a couple of questions.
I took off and 1-4 gear seemed pretty good, but then I hit 5th or 6th (one of the two) and the thing just died out. If I was accelerating at all I would be suprised.
Anyway, I got it back to it's owner and I asked him what was up with that and he said that the dyno ports are for low end power (which I knew anyway), and that they die out in the top gears because he put a 15 tooth front sprocket on it because it was putting too much tourqe on the 14.
He asked me if I saw a difference in low end, but since my Banshee wasn't there I couldn't tell.
Needless to say they didn't impress me much. Are these the typical results from the pipes or is this guy BS'ing me?
Just wondering.

Yes, Dyno Port pipes.
I am wondering if it is in fact the pipes causing it like he said, or if he messed with something else.
A mutual friend of ours is buying a Banshee from him and it needs a rebuild. The guy that owns it also mentioned that he will port it as well. I wonder if he had "self-ported" the one that rode and messed something up. Is that possible with the symptoms that I mentioned?
