375 AC Shaft knocking noise
#1
Hey guys, i notice the other day when i was travelling over many miny hills i could hear my rear drive shaft (i think its my shaft) making a knock noise as soon as my quad started up a hill, or started decending a hill. It seems like my shaft has to much play, have any of you notice this knock noise when going over very small hills? Is it something that should be check out or is it normal?

I have heard a clunk noise before but always thought it was stuff in the rear storage box or maybe the suspension flexing. Grab the drive shaft and try to wiggle it, if there's too much play it should be fairly obvious. I have noticed the 375 has the tendency to backfire when going from 3/4 throttle to 1/4 throttle. It's not a bang but more of a different kind of putt sound. Someone on the forum going to think I've lost my mind. Sometime today I'll check my driveshaft for excessive play and post the results.

I just ran out and check the drive shaft play... I couldn't get my drive shaft to wiggle if that helps.
Another problem is the air box design, what a pain in the a$$ to clean the lower chamber. The other night I had to remove the entire air box and flush clean oil through the air box to remove most of the dead bugs, dirt and other crap. The drain plug can be removed however to speed up the drain out time.

I heard the same noise when I slide the rear end to park my 375. I thought it was maybe the rims making the noise. So I took it in, sense it is still under warranty. The dealer said that it was the shaft moving a back and forth and that it is normal, because it is a floating style differential. The shaft looks like will move about 1/8" back and forth.
