Ok im buying new sprockets I currently run 12 up front and stock 40 on back. I have a Raptor and I do trails, hills,Muddy trails, jumps, creeks. So what sizes should I go with? Or should I just keep the same sizes.

I run 12/42 and like it very much. Similar riding as yourself and dunes. Pulls strong through 5th gear. Loose some top end but a good trade off for me. Even a 12/41 would be a good combo. Just my opinion. I hav been trying a 13/42 recently but am going back to the 12/42.

I run a 14/40 on my Raptor and really like it. If you go to my photos page I have a chart that will show you all the effect you will see by ANY combination of gear ratios. You will find it in my "Raptor Mods" folder. I hope it helps you out.

If you want to go that fast, sell both snowmobiles on wheels and put the money in the raptor. Then you'll have something.speed with power to boot! Hi,Greg V.

Is your Raptor a 01 or 02?This makes a huge difference.

Hey Turbo33-1/3rd., (I am tooling up my Raptor, Mo Faster)

You may want to just go a little larger on your rear sproket.......maybe a 42 or 44. That should give you a little more grunt.

I have a couple of friends that have Cannondales (FX400's) they don't seem to have any trouble in the woods & hills. You may just want to just wait and see if you have a problem before you change it. Gearing affects things across the whole range, you may regret chaning it if you get into a situation when you want to crank it up and your top end is gone. Just my oppinion.
