Mornin folks, A few of us are headed up there this weekend and 1 of the guys is taking his bike and said that he was gonna hit the bike trail. I was wondering if the section of the marienville trail that is marked "bike trail area" is ONLY for bikes or can quads use it too. I"m gettin too old to be getting into hassles with other riders and theres plenty of other trails to hit there so if it is just for bikes I'll let it be, but if not can anybody tell me about it, How was the trail?. Any info appreciated. Have fun & stay safe. Bob

The bike trail can be riden by quads. Last year, before they closed it for maintenance, it was pretty rough. I like to ride it once or twice a year. I don't know how much improvement was made. By the way, I would highly suggest you call before you go. They tend to close the trails at a moments notice, and with all the rain I would bet that they might delay the opening. I haven't called yet, so if anyone else has info. please post.

Mark

According to the Rangers, all trails are OPEN starting on this Friday. No need to call. As for the bike trail, it's pretty rocky and has a pretty good hillclimb on it. Otherwise, it's open to both atv and bike traffic....all one-way travel. More info can be found on the Trails page on my link below.
