Okay, I got my Highlifter clutch kit in my 2000 Grizzly today. Now it's time to adjust the valves and I decided that while I have the gas tank off of it I may as well go ahead and put a jet kit in at the same time.

My question is what does a jet kit do for me? Is it still effective with the stock pipe? How much difference would an aftermarket pipe make with a jet kit? I'm reluctant to lay out $200.00 plus for a pipe right now. Does my gas mileage become even poorer than it already is with the addition of a jet kit?

Does the jet kit do the most good at low, medium, or high rpm's? Or, all of the above? What about a pipe? Where does it do the most good? Where does it become a disadvantage, if at all?

It's got stock tires on it right now, but 27" Titan 589's are on the list, so I expect they will rob what stock power I already have and I'm trying to head that off as much as possible.

Any and all help and suggestions would be appreciated.

I really can't answer your question about the pipe but I know a couple of people that have them on there bikes and they all say that it makes a big difference to them, wether or not it an other question. I want to put a supertrapp IDS pipe on my 99 grizzly and I was told to go up about 4-5 sizes on the main jet, leave the rest alone. My main question was about you clutch kit from Highlifer, I just put in one of the kits on the weekend and at low rpms or wile just starting off I get this wineing noise coming from the clutch area. Did you encounter this ? Or can you suggest what might be causeing this, because I didn't touch nothing eles, apart and straight back! Thanks !

I have no such noise with mine, nor do I have any real good ideas what could be making the noise. Does it make the noise in neutral? If so, I know it's a pain, but take the clutch case back off, put the machine in neutral, start it up and rev the bike in neutral and see if you can see, or hear where the noise is coming from. Don't over rev the engine and be careful with that exposed belt spinning like that! Don't get anything caught in it! Mine is quieter and runs better with the clutch kit. My only disappointment was what I actually got in the way of parts for $69.00! I naively expected more for my money.
