Well hello again, i thought i had decided on the trail boss but after reading about the blazer im begining to rethink. I will be using it for trail riding, over night fishing trips, jumps, racing, some muddy trils but nothing u need 28" outlaws for just a bit of fun mud, some steep hills around here so somethink that can climb... All around riding. I want something thats good on gas, quick, very reliable, can be modded so that i can be in the front of the pack and not in behind. how do they sound? i herd they sound bad in stock form. do they smoke much? How do the engines hold up on long hot days of riding? I have already searched for this topic and have come to find alot of people prefer the trail blazer but i need some more opinions, i wanna make the right decision. Thanks for your time

trail blazer all the way, because you can get 40hp kits for them and they would smoke a 400ex!!!!!!!!

I think if you have doubts you can do a throttle chop and check the plug. If it is too lean re-jet

The new Trail Bosses are four strokes. The Trail Blazers are two strokes.I have a 1996 Trail Boss and have never had any major problems,or needed to rejet for colder climate. For what you are planning on doing,I would definately recommend the Trail Boss.Especially the new four strokes. They should have better low end torque and can idle for hours. The two stroke needs to be revved(cleaned out)sometimes, and that can be a hassle.

Bayou3004x4 I have a 99 trailblazer as far as gas mileage goes i can go about 50 to 60 miles on a tank as far as quickness goes their not the fastest but i think they go about 45 to 50. Mine seems to be very reliable no major problems yet. hope this helps.

stock trailblazers do 50 - 52, i have had mine at 57 next to a car on a dirt road.. there is soo much more you can do to upgrade a trailblazer then a trailboss if you decide to upgrade down the road.

We have a Boss and it is a pretty good four wheeler. Me and a few friends went out on it and the Timberwolf today and the Boss got stuck. That is one thing they aren't good for is the mud, but I doubt if the Blazer would be much better. The Blazer is cheaper, but you have to mess with mixing gas and oil and everyone thinking you are riding around on a weed eater. I would go with the boss.

twolf250,

Uh, no, you have it wrong. The Trailblazer has automatic oil injection. All you ever need to do is to fill the oil tank every 4-5 tankfuls of gas.

I would highly recommend the Blazer. They are a great bike for the money. I haven't replaced a belt yet on both of mine, so i've never burnt a belt. If you want to modify it, there is more out there for the blazer. I currently have an FTR pipe, clutch kit, and a K&N filter. It's pretty quick now. If you don't rejet it when you get it from the dealer or whatever, then you shouldn't really have to worry about rejetting for the different weather. The weather here changes alot too, and I haven't had a problem. I think that both the boss and the blazer would have the same reliability. I have never had trouble with the reliability, she starts up every time and runs like a champ. Are you looking into buying a new one or a used one? And if you care about the looks of the bike, the blazer is the winner in that category. Well, I hope this helped.
