Can someone give me the part numbers for the clutch upgrade kit for the 250r or have any suggestions when changing the clutch.

Thanks in advance

I don't have the part number but I recently installed it on my 85 R. Was well worth it. Shifts much smoother.

Straight from Nacs Racing...

Replace the old style clutch push rod system that uses the steel *****. The ***** wear and they wear the end of the push rod, making the clutch hard to disengage and creating excessive free play. This kit comes complete with new clutch pressure plate, push rod, push rod end, needle bearing, and thrust washer. (Stock item on 1989 TRX250R).
Part # 06220-HB9-305

I've got 2 pre-89 machines and I can tell you it's worth it. The rod and ball (hey, that's what it is) is replaced with a needle bearing washer that works much smoother and will provide better longevity. If you happen to have hinson clutch parts, which I do on my 350 power valve motor, you just order the clutch parts for the 89. It's easy to see the difference in the parts if you look at a fiche of the different years. I would suggst partsfish.com. I have no affiliation with them, but the site is very helpful. I just took apart an 85 trike that the previous owner had put a "piece" of metal on the inside of the pressure plate to accomadate the wear in the rod. I suspect this is a common prob as I've seen more than one of these "kitchen magician" fixes before. Calatv.com has a reasonable price on the update, I'm sure others do too. Just make sure to get the entire kit from someone or the new 89 parts, not just the t-washer and bearing.
