CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT THE TOP SPEED ON THE 99 400EX IS. HONDA SAYS ITS ON 65-68 BUT I SEE ON WEBSITES THAT IS GOES AROUND 85.
IF U KNOW THE ANSWER PLEASE POST IT.

 

Honda is right 65 to 68. I own a 99' 400ex and there is no way, stock, it would do 85.

you had better believe that a '99 Honda 400ex has a top speed of 65 mph give or take. a buddy got clocked by a cop on his 400ex on a straighaway road at 65 mph. that's plenty fast enough, where on the trails can you reach top speed of that high? many people do beleive they go faster but 65mph is true top speed stock.

 

for me it is the long 50 mile fire road before getting to the trail.(oregon dessard) that is why i need a Rubicon.. i hit 70 on my XR400 all the time and I hope the rubicon is faster than my friends kodiak that only hits 50

 

A friend of mine bought a 400EX,brought it home,and supposedly reached 107 miles per hour down a stretch of road that very day. He had no modifications whatsoever. His speedometer must have been off or something.Anyway,it is an awesome quad,looks,power,everything.

The only way that 400ex did 107 mile per hour was on a trailer behind a corvette.

107 mph...the same day...with no engine break in...speedometer? Hmmmmm Where did you come up with a 400ex with a speedo.

I own a 400ex...your lucky if you can get it to do 70 d-hill...Great quad...but not the fastest..handles well though. I'd say 60-65 is more accurate..
