400ex motor into a 250r arens frame
#2
I think thats the dumbest idea i've ever heard. Unless for some reason you can get these items very cheap. Im not sure if the 400ex engine will fit in the frame becasue its a higher four stroke engine. Also Why would you put a 400ex ungine in it. The engine is the only thing not worth using from a 400ex. Try to find a 426 or 450f. or atleast something with some umpff. I just bought a 400ex and already am plannig on putting a 426 engine in it.

why would you knock the guy on his subject.if this is what the fella wants to do let him.there's nothing wrong with the 400ex motor.and if you people don't have any constructive input in his question then don't reply to the post.everyone has their own opinion and most of them ain't worth the **** anyway.
inspiron i have no idea what it would take to put the 400ex motor in that r chassis but if you gave arens a call i'm sure they could tell you plenty and possibly send you motor mounts to ease the install.cause i thinkl they also make a chassis similar to the r for the 400 ex motor. but i'm not sure.but i am sure they could tell you.and i really don't think it would be to hard to get the 400 to fit in that chassis, there should be ample room.things might get a little tight when you add the exhaust and oil reservoir.but i'm sure if you use a little imagination you'll be able to overcome any adversity and get it in there if thats exactly waht you want. good luck.

Well mxtrx250r, maybe if I explain myself I won't sound so god dam stupid, I have a 2000 banshee that I have set up for moto x. Before yesterday when I bought the R it was my only quad . Now seemings how i already have a 2 stroke quad to race i thought it would be nice to have a 4 stroke so I could race in that class as well. The r I bought is pimped out big time with the best of the best on everything except the engine is mostly stock. Now I would build its motor but no matter what i do I know I would be faster on the track with my shee, So it seemed to me now that I am already dominating the 2 stroke class at my local track I might as well try the same in the 4 stroke class. Now About my choice of engines, Yes a crf or yzf would be faster but I enjoy to do alot more than race, The 400 ex engine will hold up alot better than a dirt bike motor and with the corect mods it can be plenty fast as well as reliable. So now I hope I don't seem like such a fool to you anymore , as for everyone else I appreciate your replys, I am just trying to get ideas for this bike before I move, I am moving to orlando florida to attend Motorcycles Mechanics Institute the first week of june. Thanx again redrider and killer kx, Oh and as for you mxtrx250r You never know when your going to make yourself look like a fool, DO YOU.

hey inspiron - glad to hear you are riding so good. We have a TMM built 440 stroker for sale. We replaced it with a 426YZF. So if you need a awsome 440 let me know. We have over $3000 in it. Comes with exhust, carb, CDI box and wire harness. Looking for best offer.
We had East Coast ATV do our engine swap. They know what is happening. Just something to think about. The EX motor is HEAVY. It will make the machine fly a little different, not alot, but different.
