What do ya'll think of the 25-12-10 Chevron d930

are these the best on the sand and dirt? I would like The 25" for better gearing. But is the 25" too big for my ds? And will I need bigger front tires too? I usually ride on the dirt but I go to the sand bar sometimes and the stock tires are killing my traction and take off. I spin out constantly, even on wet sand. I think I've seen these on some 400ex and blasters down there, or something big like this.

I would like sand tires, but I don't go to the sand bar very often and the dunes are no where near me too bad, dunes riding looks way cool.

Dude, the DS is a performance machine made for donuts, powerslides, fast cornering, quick take-offs, etc. You're not gonna have the fun that could be had with those big balloons. Not to mention, I don't think 25" will fit too well behind the heel guards, it would decrease front caster angle and increase steering twitch/wander, and look goofy.

You're right, the stock dominators suck - but you don't have to go bigger to get better - Ohtsu radials are night and day different, and so are holeshots, and bandits. If you do go bigger, I wouldn't go more than 22". I sand ride all the time with 20" Ohtsu radials, the traction is so amazing, I wouldn't trade them for the world.

Look up old tires threads, lots of input from everybody....

Ohtsu radials rock but i know they dont come in 22".
but do holeshots or bandits come in 22"? but i think i well get the radials any way.

sinces you say the traction is amazing!!! on sand too.

400ex and blasters i saw wear fast but it did look goofy. But Im not sure if thay were 25"

PS.the resin i wut the better tires is to let the 400ex's with sand tires know who is faster.im spining at the start way thay are passing the finsh line.and my tires air worn to nothing.

Thanks for the help Hightower.

Yeah, bandits and holeshots come in 22, as well as razors and some others. It seems the general consensus around here is the bandits are really great in 22", especially for the desert guys because they are pretty puncture resistant. Any 22" will give better traction than 20", no doubt, and more ground clearance. They'll make the gearing a little higher too, to help you stay off the rev limiter. I've thought hard about 22" tires, and if I was to get a set, it would be the bandits. Any bigger than 22" and handling will suffer though

Really though, do a search on tires, read some of the older threads, there is a lot of input for just about every tire there is. Maybe even from somebody that rides the same area as you, and has tried a couple different treads...

22" holeshots work great. they are not a very heavy tire like some of the other. they hook up very well for drag racing.

Hi guys
If you are an all around trail, sand and dirt rider, as I am, let's try the Maxxis SurTrac 22".
They are reversible for sand and dirt. Good in all around trail condition and puncture resistant.
I have a set on my DS that I use for trail and dirt riding, they're good for power sliding and dirt shower (for the guys who follow you) not to heavy and not to expensive. I'm using a set of ProWeg for snow and sand and Holeshots for trail.
Just take a look at Maxxis.
Good luck.

Sure tracks, Bear Claws, are good choices.

I have a set of Pure Sports Realtors I use on sand and very muddy or rocky trail rides.
