i am looking at buying a bombardier toward the end of this year but don't know if i want to get a used ds 650 and use the money i saved, from not buying a new one, and adding accesories like new tires for better control, new a-arms like on the baja, lights, and the stuff on the baja that makes it more stable; or just get a new baja and not have to worry about getting that stuff. i would just buy a used baja but there isn't any for sale were i live.

thanks

I personally have no regrets in buying my "used" DS. I found it in the trader in January this year, not really knowing anything other than I was buying a quad, period. One look, one listen, one quick ride, my daughter's approval, and 4800 bucks...it only had a few rides in it. Hell, the protective film on the A-arms hadn't even been removed. It came with a Pro-circuit T4 slip- on, PRM front bumper and PRM rear grab. I bought a set of nerfs from the guy for half price that hadn't even been taken out of the box. It felt good to feel bad for getting it so cheap! I see similar deals all the time, so I say use the extra 2k to put the right sized tires (22's and 23's Pure-sports Bandits--very nice! ), a rev-unlimiter, a pipe, a filter, jet-kit.... Just don't let your emotions override your common sense when making the deal--if that's at all possible. I could've paid cash for a new quad $7300, but a slightly usedone for much less allowed me to recently buy a second, used but also well kept, for my daughter.

Go used and save the money for mods. A good used one cost about $3'900 and you may find one with some mods.
new a-arm's tires cost about $800. A new ds baja cost $7,250 I think.
So $3'900+ mods =$4'700 and use the $2'550 for mods. You can make the ds real fast with that.
