Hey guys when you start your wolvs up does it puff a little blue smoke out if you rev it a little, I'm not talking thick just a little, I mean it clears up after a few seconds so i know its not the rings. I was wondering what it is. I just noticed its eating a little oil in this hot weather i heard this is normal for air cooled engines. Just wanderin. Also do fmf megamax 2 pipes comes with the head pipe?
Thanks

I haven't noticed my 99' to smoke, however, I did notice a oil smell when I rode the heck out of it. It may have been residue from when I changed oil and adjusted the valves though.

Keep us posted!!! :O

I never noticed mine blow blue smoke when it was stock. Maybe go to a heavier oil in the summer. Are you using a synthetic..if so, it may be slipping past the valve stem seals. No the FMF does not come with a headpipe. The pipe clamps on where the heat shield is on the right side of the bike. Yamaha was generous and made the headpipe rather large, so you dont need to replace it.

That smoke when you start it cold is coming from the valve stem seals seaping oil as they cool down, its pretty common. Especially with some hours on the engine. Lack of oil changes or proper oil can make this worse. I have found that synthetic oils help soften the seals and help them seal better. Hope this helps
