My Raptor is Broke, I need help! (PLEASE HELLLPPP)
#1
I was puting in a jet kit and noticed that the pilot screw on the right carb was stuck. So I took it to the yamaha dealer to see if they could get it out, and they could not. They said it was cross threaded from the manufacturer. The screw is all the way in and won't budge. The mechanic tried to drill it and tap it out with no luck. Now I am waiting to find out what the mahine shop says.Does anyone have any carbs for the Raptor incase I have to buy some.please contact me.Thanks very much.
PS. I did try to contact Yamaha But the line is always busy, Any other numbers or suggestions would help as well.
Thanks

You could always push the matter with Yamaha as it is a manufacturing defect that went un-noticed until the shop worked on it. I'd try alot of phone calls and letters before I stepped up to pay for this one.
Just my thoughts.

JumpinJack,
YES, I have a set of stock carbs that are just sitting here as I am using the FCR's. I would sell them to you, but am not sure what they are worth. Make me an offer and I will start to do some research as to what other people have sold them for used. I will be extremely fair, as I really have no use for them anymore.

I agree with Smitty, press Yamaha Hard on this.
You should not have to pay for their mistake. It might not do any good but that's what I'd try.

It sounds like the same problem that I have. I soaked mine in WD40 and got the left one to turn. The right one is still stuck. The head of the screw is now shot so I just kept it were it was. Please let us know what happens. I should also keep calling Yamaha.
Swy,
Are you using the 35mm FCR carbs from Sparks racing? How do they work and how modified is your Quad. I was thinking about getting them, but I just have a pipe on my quad and wanted to know if they are worth $800.
Thanks

FASTRAPTORMAN,
Yes, I am using the 35mm FCR's. I am a bit ahead of myself here as my motor is shipment to me as we speak. So, I don't know how it will perform, but am confident it will be worth the money on "my quad". I purchased the carbs through Trinity, along with my 727 that's on it's way. I will give a complete ride report as soon as breakin is done, followed by dyno info shortly after that, including dyno type (model #, brand, etc., tires run on the dyno, hp #'s, tourque graph and a complete list of modifications to my 727.
Again, if someone needs a set of stock carbs, let me know. I also have ten assorted main jets, pilot jets and a complete DynoJet kit.
