If Yamaha and Honda were to put those motors in a production quad chasis that weighed no more than 340lbs, which one would you choose ?.
I myself would choose the 426 over the Honda due to the fact that the 426 is a proven motor and revs to the moon (by 4-stroke standards).

 

I really like the YZ motor, but the CR starts a whole lot easier. The YZ is more "fun" to ride because it's 2-stroke like powerband, where as the CR is very smooth without the big hit.

 

HAve you seen the new YZF450 ? has all the nice features of the CRF plus more, go to yamaha's website.

 

The new YZ450F is COMPLETLY different from the 426 engine that it replaces.

It's a new engine all together. It's physically smaller than the 426 and Yamaha says that a few of the gears and fasteners are all that's borrowed from the 426 engine.

The new WR450F looks like a VERY good project....They gave it a LIOGHTWEIGHT electric start this year!!!!

damn, i wish i hadnt seen this info on the new yamahas, now ima want to wait til next year to get the 426, i dont think i can soill go with the z400m,but if i did have the patients to wait, definetly the yamaha [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img] but weight of a qaud for meis really not that much of an issue (im a fairly big kid, weigh bout 245-250) so id definetly get the 426 [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

heres a more interesting question,out of the predator 500, the yam 426 and gonda 450, which would u buy? im thinkin most people are gonna say the yamaha still.....but then aain this is the yamaha forum...
