Stock 426 and 450 SMOKE the 660. Not even close. The Raptor is in the 35-38 HP range, the 426 & 450 are in the 52-60 HP range. The Raptor motor is a low compression, low hassle motor. The bike motors are a high compression (12.5 to 1) motor that requires more maintainance and time to keep running at peak power. The bike's FCR carb is also quite a bit more complex than the Raptor's, helping with the high power output. The new WR450F motor in the Raptor frame would be a sweet quad what with electric start, auto de-comp, and a magnesium head to help reduce weight. Are you listening Yamaha?

12.5/1 sounds high. It runs on pump gas right?

From what I remember reading from one of the dirt bike mags a little while ago, the YZF426 is around 45HP at the wheel, and is about the same power as the CRF450. The Raptor is about 37 at the rear wheels. I think the 52-60HP numbers for the dirt bikes are a bit off.

Nothing like comparing apples to oranges. Bike always work out with better HP. So far the main reason yamaha has not used the 426 motor in a Quad is due to the high maintainance of that motor.

The 125 two stroke and YZF250 are both about 30HP and the 250 two strokes and YZF426/CR450F are both about 45HP. There are tons of dyno runs on the FMF website. Check them out at fmfracing.com and look for the "Dyno Runs" tab. All I know after riding a piped KX125 is that there's a world of difference between HP and torque when it comes down to how the power "feels." I would never trade the feeling of my stock Raptor's 37HP for the feeling of that piped KX's 32HP.
