I rejeted my bike last week, not the first time done several times. I had everything done and it was running great. We went riding this weekend it ran great all day. At the end of the day we came in to rest and load the bikes up and I noticed it started leaking gas out of the right side overflow. It quits when you shut off the gas, of course.
Tried to run the bike until it ran out of gas and to turn the gas back on to see if it would flush but no. It leaks while the bike is running also. It started at the end of the day not all day. I need some good ideas so I can fix it this week Thanks

ya have a piece of dirt in the float valve or you bumped it out of adjustment when jetting and its filling to much. Tap it with a hammer handle or screwdriver to check if its just sticking or dirt.. a decent tap should do it.

If tapping it doesn't work you may have to dissasemble your carb & look under the tab on the float, The needle will be hanging from it & the seat is under it. Look for the trash under the needle.

Just take the bowls off like your going to rejet.
Blow everything out good but blow so it forces the crap out of the carb not in to it.

If you havent done it yet replace all the bowl bolts with stainless allen head bolts. That will save you headaches down the line.

You may want to squirt some carb cleaner in the area under the float tang first before using the air just to be sure the valve isn't stuck with fuel varnish. If all this doesn't cure the overflow I have the float level specs available if you need them. You can email me if you like.

Moose had the best advise, I tried everything but taking the float apart. I was skidish at first but after a while I tore into it. I took the screw out that held the float and then lifted the float out being carefull not to disturb it too much. I then took out the screw that held the float valve. Took out the float valve, I guess that is what it is called, and at the bottom of the float valve was a piece of what looked like plastic maybe from where I was grinding on my air box. I shot some carb cleaner into it to get rid of the crap that caused me so much trouble and put it all back together. Turned on the gas and it was fixed Felt pretty good not to have to go to the stealer.

Thanks to all of the great advise I was able to fix it myself.
