The 80th annual Pikes Peak International Hill Climb was this saturday. I was hoping that with the momentum Cannondale has been gathering that someone would enter a Dale this year in the Pro Quad class. With the elevation change over the course of the race, the fuel injection would be ideal to keep that power coming on from the bottom (start line around 9300 feet) to the 14,110 foot summit.
Of the 18 or so entries there was one Raptor, a DS650, maybe as many as three 'Zillas, and the balance being Banshees. Unless I missed someone in the crowd, that was it.
Bobby Parr won on his Banshee.
The day was a blast anyway as the quads were just one of several classes to go up the hill. I'm already looking forward to next year and hopefully we'll see a Dale representing us all proudly!

The reason you didn't see them there is because of the fact that Fuel Injected quads must run in the unlimited class. Yeah, I know it's not fair to make a production machine run in a class where people are routinely making 100+ hp on their quads, but those are the rules. Perhaps in the future we might see the rules change.
