What are you going to use it for? Suzuki's lt250 has a very strong motor but not so good handling. The front of the frame is really wide with short a-arms witch makes for a lot of bump stear. It does makes a decent TT or trail quad if thats what your in to.If MX is on your mind I would stick with honda's 250r.It has the best handling of any quad hands down.Plus it is a better jumper and you have the honda reliability. If I had to choose I would pick the 250r.

Suzuki has a great engine but bad chassis. If you DO decide to, and I regret getting my 86, then get an 87 or newer. The swingarm on the older ones are horrible, I cracked mine in 4 places afterr spending 2600 on the bike, i sold it and got 900. Honda is a much better choice my friend.

I owned a 1987 LT-250r for awhile and I liked it. The machine was very comfortable, it handled great, soaked up good sized jumps and had useable power for all types of riding. Is it better than the honda 250R.........probably not. But if you aren't racing, or just wan't to be a little different, then its a perfectly capable machine. The chain adjusted was the only thing I hated. It had a design much like the new z-400, and it flat out stinks. The earlier model lt-250r's had a better chain adjuster in my opinion.
