Does anyone know if the Sportsman gas tank and plastic will bolt up on the Magnum. I really like the Yellow Plastic and was considering putting on my 99Mag 500. Thanks

Except for the rear end differance you may as well call a Magnum a Sportsman or visa versa so it should work.

When I bought my Magnum I made a coment to the salesmen about wanting the sportsman color plastic. He told me that he just sold a Sporstman and the guy wanted the yellow plastic so they swapped it. He said they still had the olive color plastic if I wanted to put it on my Magnum I would just have to pay the labor to do the swap. I just kept the green color but it will interchange.

I know that the tanks are different. What I don't understand is why Polaris did not put the larger 5.25 tank on the Magnum considering the same motor and its intended work use? I figure if I can fit the plastic, I would want the larger tank to boot... Thanks

The palstics will swap, and I am not sure about the gas tank. I don't think the MAgnum has the room for the tank, because the Sportsman's motor sits further back.

I used to think the Sportsman and the Magnum only differed in the rear suspension till I owned both. Wrong. The motor on the Magnum sits farther forward in the frame. The tanks are defiantly not interchangeable and the intake for the clutch housing is lower on the Mag. I too am disappointed in the size of the Mag’s gas tank. My guess is the plastic is interchangeable but haven’t tried it.
