I just put a new clutch in my Raptor, I have done 100 in clutches in my street bikes and dirt bikes. The Raptor is set up the exact same way. Now when I put the bike in gear, nothing. I can shift through every gear fine, but the bike doesn't move. With the bike off, and in 1st gear, I can push it around like it was in neutral. I can't figure it out. I put the clutch in and had to wait on my gasket, so it was a week or so until I started it, but that couldn't affect it. Its like the clutch in ingaged all the time. Has this happened to anyone else? I am not an idiot, but this one has me stumped.

Just a guess, but I think it I have an idea.

If you looking at your clutch (with the cover off), on the bottom left hand side is shifting type mechanism (sorry don't have the exact name, just above the bbottom most left cover bolts). It has a tendancy to want to somewhat come out towrd you (remamber your looking at the clutch in front of you). The case holds it in place and if it comes out toward you, the tranny will either be stuck in nuetral or stuck in one gear. I had a similar problem the first time I changed my clutch and had to take the cover off, only to find out this was my problem.

Sorry I can't tell ya for sure, especially with out seeing it. I know you don't want to take that cover off, but that's my idea.

That sounds more like it, hopefully it's something simple like that. It just sucks taking it apart with the foot pegs and brake in the way.

I had the same identical thing happen to me on the 7th month, yep I said 7th. I never did figure it out. I brought it to the shop where I bought it 2 days after my warrenty ran out, and it took the 3 weeks to get it back to me. I asked what the problem was and they said they couldn't figure it out so they replaced the entire clutch assemblt, EVERYTHING. When I went to get my key from the service desk they said it would be $$$. After a long drawn out afair I got it paid for by Yamaha under the good will thing.

Sorry I am not any help but I thought I'd share. BTW that was the last time I was there, I got mine in Nov of 00'.

i havent seen the inside of my raptor but i know on a warrior if you dont get the presser plate lined up just right int the basket it wont work. it does the same thing that your talkin about. when your get the side cover off see if the clutch plates have and slack in them if you can move them it isn't right when you tighten the springs they should all be tight against each other.
