Ok I need some advice, What type of chain is stock on the Raptor? (520,530) and also how many links are in it? I don't know about chains at all, and I just had a 4inch extension added to my swing arm. A few people have recomended the DID chains, but when I go to their site I don't have a clue what I'm looking at, and when I called my local dealer they told me to count the links in my chain? Do stock chains not come with "x" number of links or are they all different.

I don't have a clue all I know is that I have a swing arm with 4inch extension, Trinity Stage IV pipe, K&N filter, and jets added to a bike that I can't ride because I don't know what chain to get...

any advice GREATLY appreciated!!!!!!!

I just bought a new Raptor, and the stock chain that comes on it is a D.I.D 520. I don't know how many link's are in it, but that doesn't matter if you are going with a 4" extended swing arm. You are going to need a chain that is allot longer than the stock chain. If I were you, I would call D.I.D, and tell them exactly what you have. Tell them that you have a Raptor, and that you have added a 4" extended swing arm, I would even tell them the manufacture of it. Then they can suggest what length chain that you should use. Make sure to get a chain breaker though, as they will send a chain that will be longer than you need, (better to long, then to short). Then, once you receive your new chain, adjust your chain adjuster to about mid way. Wrap your new chain around the sprockets, in order to find out where you will need to cut your new chin so that it will fit. Mark that master link, and then use your chain breaker to break that master link. Then install your new master link on the chin after you have installed your chain on your Raptor, and you are done.

To get a good ball park figure on the length you need, go into the old ladies sewing drawer and grab her tape measure, you know the kind they measure inseams, waist lines with and wrap that around your drive sprocket and rear sprocket. Give those measurements to whoever your ordering your chain from. You can order an X-ring DID custom length chain from rockymountainatv.com and not have to cut your chain. Just make sure you have your bearing carrier adjusted all the way "in" when you take your measurement with the paper tape because chains will stretch over time.

Hey Eddie, there are literally hundreds of miles of trails out here around Vegas. It just depends on what kind of riding you like to do, and what kind of quad you have. There is everything from technical rock crawling, to sand dunes, and all about a 15-minute drive from the strip. You'll have to let me know when you come out!
