hey guys,
i have installed the jet kit. i have installed the supertrapp, and a k&n filter. heres my setup.
stock airbox, with a k&n filter.
supertrapp, 11 plates.
155 main jet, 4th needle groove clipped.
2 1/2 turns out on carb screw.

not the power i was hoping for. i am not saying it is a dog by no means, but it isn't up to what i was hoping for. i was looking for some hold the front end down before she flipps power off the line. instead i got some, i hope she lifts the tires more than 3 inchs this time, lol. i have just finished adjusting my valves again, so i know there right. i dont feel i'm running rich, couse my plug isn't all black. it aint white either. so, am i just expecting too much from her?
any insight into how i might tweek another 2 hp out of her without adding more stuff?
any and all serious responces welcome, and thanks!!!

Mich~

Your setup sounds sweet. Seems to me the only way to get anything more w/o adding anything is to modify your airbox to let more air in, then, perhaps, jet up again. I don't run super traps..so not sure on the disc how that works...does more disc=leaner? I don't imagine that you'll be wanting to do that though sense you've snorkled the Grizzly for deep submergence fun.

Who knows man, perhaps a richer main jet? ( the stock is like 153.8, your 155 main isn't signifigantly different. ) The more open exhaust means very little back pressure at least compared to the factory muffler, heck go overboard put the 170 mikuni jet in there, open the pilot a bit, lower you're needle one notch too, to take up some of the new jets size, get a spare plug or two in case it molests them in short order and let er rip for fun testing.

the 155 dynojet is totally different from a 155 mikuno jet. You cannot compare the two different brands of jets against each other, there is a conversion factor.

If you want low-end power, then remove about 3 plates from your muffler. The less plates on the muffler....the more low-end power, the more plates......more top-end power. Try drilling 7 - 1" holes in the airbox lid.....I have one with that done and it makes a huge difference in low-end power.

thanks for all the reply's guys!!! i am not thrilled about drilling holes in my airbox couse of the water factor. i will be removing 3 plates to see the differance. i will then richen her up a little to see if that helps.
the clips on the needle, what are they for( how do they work)? i have mine on the 4th groove. should i move it for more fuel? witch way do i move it?
the chick in the pics is my wife, NOT!!! LMAO! she would have married me if she liked fat harry men, with a evergrowing bald spot and a limp. but she is more into the young, attractive, strong, ablebodied type. well, her loss, lmao!!!

well, i found a problem, lol. the clamp holding the muffler to the center pipe, it was loose. i had a big air loss between the pipes. i tightened it all the way, but it still leaked. so i did the manly thing, and snapped it, lmao!!! i now have a muffler clamp from a car, and it IS TIGHT!!!
i took out plates, and am down to 8. the quad would not even run after that. i take it it was to rich, lol. so, i turned it back to 0, then out 2 1/8 turns. i think its dialed in now, but not quite shure? i have no hesitation, and instant power. it gets the front end up while sitting on the front of the seat, without helping. i am assuming that this is all she'll give me without rings and a bore job, lol.
thanks for your help all!!!
is there a way to dial in a carb to perfection? i turn it 1/8 turn, then go down the block. is that how its done? lol.

If you got it to run better by taking out discs that means it was lean. Les discs equals less power. Puttingmore discs in will lean it out and then you will nedd to jet it up but you should notice a power difference over the way it is set up now. Give it a try. It should wake her up a bit.
