Scrambler dies, still
#1
My Scrambler is still dying for some reason. I posted a message a while back about it and tried a couple things, but to no avail. I tried opening the fuel cap, switched to reserve (had over half a tank of fuel), ran low octane fuel. After it sat for a couple hours, it started. I was on top of a hill, though, and was able to coast back down to our camper this time, though, when it died.
It would occasionally fire, but I had a heck of a time while it was warm. It even started and ran a couple times, but shortly died, as if out of fuel. When I start it up, now, it runs fine. Usually when I am just riding the heck out of this thing, I have no trouble, but when I ride slow or have to wait on someone, then I have trouble if it is very warm out.
I will check the fuel filter, but it is fairly new. Any other ideas?
Thanks,
SnowDrift

Check your throttle adjustment. Also, did you check the plug too? It sounds like it is a carb problem to me...I really don't know, but I checked the 4-stroke trouble shoot in my repair manual and most of your problems sound carb related. If it is not the carb, then maybe piston ring damage? I really couldn't tell you. I am just naming off things I saw in the manual. Hopefully someone with more experience could help you better.

I ride a kawasaki mojave and mine used to cut out and was real hard to fire back up.Turned out that the float in the carburator got pushed down in the bowl. When your machine dies out immediatly turn the screw open on the bottom of the carb if no gas comes out then the float is positioned wrong.
