I am looking to buy new handlebars. I like the FMF 909 and Renthal bars. I will probably get the Renthal bars, but I don't know what type to get. I would like Renthals that have the rise, pullback, and width the same or close to stock on a 400EX. What do you all think? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I've got a nice set of unbent and unscratched stock bars. They're perfect. You know you want them

I bought 400EX-bend Renthals last fall. I like them. They look good and save a couple pounds.

There are several manufacturers that make great handlebars. I would definitely think about getting the aluminum alloy bars. They absorb shock and also do not bend as easy. Renthal makes a double wall handlebar that they claim can take out more shock, flex, and retain their shape during tipovers. Answer also offers a Pro-taper with these properties. You will need a clamp kit however. Two other manufacturers offering aluminum bars are O'neal and Tag. Check out the April 2000 Dirtwheels mag. It has a buyers guide that should aide you in your search

I would suggest you call Renthal if you've decided on their bars and ask for tech info. I did that yesterday, told him my riding style, which consists of a lot of standing and when sitting, being in the attack position. The tech recommended their atv bend bars which have about a 3 1/2 " rise and shorter pullback than stock. My local dealer's catalog didn't have the part # of these bars so they must be a new item. I'm going to see the owner of this store Monday & let him locate them for me.The tech at Renthal did say the retail price was $89.
The part # for these bars, if they fit your style, is:781-01-S1 and the tel # is (661) 257- 0474
If your style is more casual & mostly sitting, you possibly would not want this particular bend so just tell him your style & let the maker tell you his recommendation.
I've used Renthals off & on for many years & they will reduce arm pump, and general fatigue in hard riding.
