I have a 98 grizz that every once and a while the starter grinds, the problem is I don't have a clue where it is to look at the gears. Any help would be appreciated

NP I think I found it right at the front of the engine there is a housing that goes into the pull start I think it is there. One more question I have purchased a cigarette lighter for an accessory power plug do most bikes have to have the key on for them to work or are they direct to the battery??

i think you might have a dying battery. my EX makes a "grinding" noise when it's really low on amps. you could have a bad starter but i doubt that's the case. i'd just take the battery to sears and have it tested. if it's the original battery then it's getting kinda old anyways. good luck.

shoot I forgot to ask what would be acceptable amps under load for this type of battery? I live in canada where sears is more washers and dryers than tools but I have access to a load test machine.
