Well theres goin to be alot of difference.. You'll have alot more speed problly close to 10 or 15mph more.. Alot better acceleration very nimble feeling! Also their will be more power. ITs a great atv!! What will youwant it for tho and how big are you?? Hope this helped.

Im only 5'6 175 lbs, I want somthing that feels sporty. I do like the fact the ozark has some utility use. Considering buying a second atv for wife and though another ozark or go with the 300 ex.

i don't know if your wife is like most women or not, but just a thought the 300EX has a clutch, might not matter, but she might not enjoy the ride as much. but if she know how to use a clutch i'd get the 300EX

Mad Dasher, the Ozark is a sporty utility quad, but it still is a utility quad first. There is a big difference between a 300ex and an Ozark in performance. When deciding what you will lay down your hard earned money for you need to be honest with yourself about your intended usage of the quad. The 300ex is a pure sport quad and a good one at that. The Ozark is a good ute that has just enough sport capability thrown in to keep old guys like me happy too. It makes a good wife/bigger kid quad that will give respectable sport trail riding performance. It won't handle rough whoops or MX style riding like a pure sports quad will but it's better than any other ute in its class. Maybe give the Ozark to the wife and step up to a 400ex or a Z400 for yourself? Heh Heh.

I'm 5'7" and 180 lbs, and the 300EX is just borderline (in size) for me. I would take a serious look at the 400EX. Around here, you can get $1,000 off of the msrp (due to competition from the Z400), which puts it in the 300EX price range. The 300EX is good, but the 400EX is better.

Wow YZ you have a ton of quads, which do you like better between the Z and the EX?

I like the EX for trail riding. It has very good low end power, lugs down, and powers out of turns nicely. For open country, I like the Z. It has a very "pipey" powerband, and makes its power at higher RPM. It likes to be ridden reved out, and you can throw it into high speed turns with confidence. If I could only have one bike, I guess it would be the Z and I would just make it work for trail riding. Hopefully, some aftermarket mods will increase the low end on the Z. I think the Z is one of those bikes that handles so well, it makes you a better rider than you are!!

I see you live in Texas, so you probably have a mixed bag of riding conditions???? You could trail ride the Ozark, and use a Z for the open country.

You have some great points! the ozark is a nice trail bike however I like the feel when I hammer my throttle on the scrambler. I think what would be ideal for me is the Scrambler, either the z400 or the Ex, Keeping the ozark for my son,or mabey even a blaster and dump the ozark. Ya we have alot of riding conditions from mean mud trails to mx tracks dunes etc. however we will never have the snow fun other states have. hehe I wanna move just so I can experience that condition.
