You can buy a new ignition switch, if nothing else.

You can use a short piece of wire as a jumper across the harness to get it started. Try the two outside wires first. Keep trying combos until the starter button works. I've ridden this way after losing my key at the riding grounds. Some key shops can make a new key if you take them the tumbler.

I lost my keys and took the ignition to a locksmith. He made mea new key on the spot. Cheaper than a new ignition.

On yor model I really don't know. Ihave a 99 Sport and I take the hood off and there is the ignition. Mine I just unplug the wiring harness and take the ignition out. Yours should be basically the same.

Go to Partsland.com and they have drawings of all models you can print out. Just look up ignition for your modeland it will show you how it comes apart.

To jump it run a wire from where the red wire's connect to,(it's your hot straight from your battery) to the area where the wires that have the red with white stripe. Just forget the ignition and get a rip cord.
