hey y'all

Well I'd like to know if my warrior can beat my brother in=law's Scrambler 500 in a drag. He doesn't have anything on his yet, but I have a K&N filter, R4 Exhaust, jetted, 14T front sproket and that's about all for mechanical stuff. Do you think I would beat him in either bottom, mid or top end? any feedback appreciated no matter how depressing it is! Not to put down your bike. But being totally honest. I have yet to see a bike lose to a warrior. A friend on a 250 mojavie beat a warrior thru the gears but lost top end. He changed his sproket then lost though the gears but won top end. This is againts a 250. Good luck against a 500.

 

And the warrior had a good exaust a jet kit and k&N filter.

We have one guy in our group that has a 2000 Warrior and unfortunatly he was not able to run with me on my 2000 Scrambler 500 4x4. Conditions may have been a factor. But when the Scrambler launches with all fours without having to worry about flipping it on your back (unless you screwed with the clutch) you don't have to worry about having a bad holeshot. Still enjoy riding mine, I don't have any intention of modifing mine other than the K&N filter and wench that I have on it.

There is just something beautiful about beating someone while carring a wench. Ha ha

Give him a run though..........win or laloo lllo' llooos#$'#% lose (there I said it) it's all fun anyway.

If you can't beat a Scrambler in a drag race with your Warrior, you really need to work on your riding skills.

 

well I ahev beaten many mojave's 300ex's and warrior's and I think that's good for just havin a pipe filter and jet ( i love tyhe 14T front sproket too) but anyway I beat him once on a drag and we were close outta the holeshot until top end (nose to nose) but then I beat him but after we parked and went home we found out his rear seal blew and it ruined his axle housing, brake rotor and some bushings so I don't hink I can beat him but just would like to hear your input. thanks

This would have been an easy answer if you didn't mod your machine...Now you're making things difficult [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img] .

My buddy has a 2000 Warrior and I had a 1998 Polaris Sport 400, which is the exact same thing as a Scrammy except back then they called the 2wd ones "Sports".

Anyway, I CAN tell you that a STOCK Warrior WILL lose to a STOCK Scrambler in a drag and on top end. That is a fact. People can argue that my buddy can't drive, but they can say whatever makes them happy. Either way, it's hard to argue with top end since neither driver has to have one ounce of skill.

Since yours is modded I can't say for sure. All I can say is that off the line on pavement it was hardly a contest. Top end wasn't as big of a deal...I was probably pulling him by 3mph or so. So with that said, if your mods added a crap load of low end, and at least 3mph up top then you deffinatly stand a chance.

Oh, now that I have rambled on about this I see that you are talking about a Scrambler 500. That adds another thing to my post since I was refering to a 400. However, I have been told that stock for stock the 400 and 500 are equal (and some say that 500 is slightly faster).

My 100% stock 87 Warrior was a fairly good race for my friend's piped and jetted 99 Scrambler 500. He always won, but they were close everytime. I could dust him on the trails, though, it's a pain in the *** trying to ride that heavy Scrambler through the woods at any decent speed. I did envy him when it got muddy or snowy out![img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

 

The scrambler would win based on my experiences.

 

When my scrambler 400 was stock(just a k&n) it beat my neighbors warrior everytime his warrior has a pipe,filter,and jetted. Everytime we raced the holeshot would be fairly even either of us being slightly ahead on different occasions we would always run side by side up util he shifted into 4th when I would steadily walk away from him. Although your results could be somewhat different racing a 500 since the 400 is slightly faster on top-end. your sprocket could also make a difference.
