I was wondering if anyone else has bought a alba pipe for there ds?
I bought one, put it on, drove for a day and packing was shooting out of the silencer and the silver/chrome finish was chipping off of the header pipes.
I sent it back they replaced it for free. (Witch was great) But I got my new one put it on today and drove it for 2 hours and packing is shooting out of the silencer and the finish on the header pipes is chipping of again!!!!

Did anyone else have this problem?

Thanks,
Nick

P.S. I have the full Alba pipe, K&N filter, outwear, no air box lid, dyno jet kit, i was riding today and after a while my ds just shut off, so i let it sit then it started and a while later i shut off again, then i waited for a while and it would start, the fan was going a lot, so i am wondering if i am running to lean? Any thoughts will be nice!

I have the Alba pipe kit on my Raptor. I had the same problem with the packing. Not as soon as I was riding but a few months later. The finish on my headers is faded a tad but, its not chipping off or anything. Ive had my pipe for 6-8 months its seems like.

As for the packing. I took out the insert. Re packed it. Put it back together and then took some high temp scilicone and filled in the gap all the way around the end piece and muffler housing. Have not had a problem with the packing scince.

As for your other problems?? Good luck.

Got it at the local auto parts store. Its permatex ultra black hi-temp silicone gasket maker 598B. I'm sure theres better stuff out there. This said what I wanted IE silicone and hi temp so thats what I got.

I like my Alba pipe. It gives my Raptor great low and mid range power compared to stock. Its a shame the finish is chipping on you. Hows the gains felt on your DS. My brother has a DS and I'm sure he'd be interested in knowing the performance. TIA

It is great power, it gives 10 low to mid and 2 up top, I would recomend it, and it comes with jet kit, K&N and outwears...

Thanks

Thanks.

As for your other problem, since you've recently took things apart and put them back together. The vent tube for your gas tank wraps around a couple times. Make sure its not pinched or kinked. This will cause your bike to die. Then a short time later fill the carb back up and run again then dies. worth checking out.

1/2 the DS's out there have had issues with their vent tubes getting kinked. The factory puts on a 3 foot vent tube, and wraps it around the tank twice to keep fuel from spilling in a roll-over, and there is just too much potential for a pinch in doing that.
I drilled a small hole in front of the gas cap through the tank cover, and ran the vent tube up through it and down beside the steering stem like all the other bikes of the world are. Cut off the extra 2 feet. Some guys go for the $50 vented gas caps instead.
