I have the ALBA pipe for my ds. I have hade it for about a year and a half. The packing was gon the first week. So I filled it with steel wool and it got a lot quiter and it stayed that way. I do have a chip on my head pipe and the finish did fade a little but it still looks great and performes even better.

Hey hightower, I hope this will help me, i took the tube and cut it so it goes from the place the tube comes out of the gas tank and i just ran it down kinda by the water pump. WIll This Help Me?

And after putting the dyno jet kit in, do i still have to adjust the air screw after i turn it out 2 1/4 turns like stage 3 says?

Thanks

You've elliminated the potential for a kink - if that was your problem then its gone now. If you still have the stalling issue then there's something else wrong, maybe a sticking float valve, or maybe even the float got bumped hard while you were changing the main jet and is out of level adjustment.
If you followed the jetting instructions in the kit and set the air screw like it said then you are good to go, providing you fully seated the idle screw before turning out 2-1/4 turns. If you turned it out 2-1/4 turns from where it was at stock then the bike will run like crap and you will foul your plug at idle.
The instructions are pretty good, you should be within a jet size of being correct, 'cause every bike is a little different. If you are running with no lid then you need to follow Stage3 directions (for carb mount filters), not Stage1. This is very important, trust me. After jetting, put in a new plug, check its color after a couple hours of ride time. It should have a nice tan ring on the end of the white porcelain, and the rest of the white below the ring should not be pure white anymore. If you are jetted Stage1 and run with no lid then you're lean, you won't get color, and your exhaust temps will be excessive.

No, I went by stage 3 instructions and I turned the air screw all the way in then 2 1/4 out. I will see what happens next time I go riding. I looked at the plug when it shut off and it seemed to be all right for color. Maybe A little to white, what should I do if it is to white, put bigger jet, or just change the needle position?

Thanks

I use the super trapp.

But I got a call today from alba and they are going to send me a new pipe again, but this time they said they talk to the person who makes the pipes for them and he is changing the finish so now it will not chip and I think he is going to fix the packing problem.

So now I am back to really liking alba.

I don't get it you guys have been having that much problems whit your alba pipe i've had mine since they came out whit it and never had a problem sure it faded but when you get the header pipe red hot it will fade.

mxzxracin do you have the dynojet kit if so if your plug is to white you should go whit a bigger jet.
