02 grizzley backfire and rev limiter?

has anyone had there griz backfire after letting completely off the throttle. wont do it every time just once in a while, didnt notice this until after i adjusted the valves? also when i held it wide open for the first time i hit 63mph then the reverse light came on is their a rev limiter in this machine? its bone stock with 600 miles and under warrenty.

Yes, there are several rev limiters on the Grizz...and sounds like you hit your top end limiter..that's the blinking R light signal, that kinda surprises me, because usually Grizzly's will have a higher top end then that. As for the backfiring...I'm not sure. I would definately check your airbox, and the rubber boot between that and the carb. I've never had anything happen on mine, but a few weeks back my brother in laws SP700 was doing exactly what you're describing, and we found that rubber boot cracked all the way around on his quad.

thanks for the info. i think the top end was lower because i was riding at 5600ft.
