They obviously look like they are clear coated with something. My question is, Is there any way to strip off the coating so I can polish the wheels?? Has anyone tried this?

Don't do it! I tried to do it with one of my wheels. I did it on the inside to se how it worked. It didn't. It took forever to strip of whatevere was on there. Then I took and air dremel type thing and tried to polish it with a wheel and this stuff I bought at the hardware store. I couldn't get in a lot of the little places. I looks like crap. When I was pulling it home from riding one day this winter some salty road spray got on the wheel and it started to corrod right away. But atleast it's on the inside and can't be seen as easy.
