Red Hot Yosh Header!
#1
I just noticed tonight that the part of my Yosh header closest to the cylinder was bright orange. Is this normal with stainless steel? As soon as I shut the quad down, it went away in about 60 seconds. The carb has been properly tuned/jetted and has no stumbles, backfires or other problems. Any thoughts?

The pipe is incredible. Awesome sound, vastly improved power and looks killer. The kit had the stainless header pipe, header nuts, exhaust clamps, bolts, RS-3 muffler and a sticker. A detailed instruction sheet was also provided. The stainless is perfect. I've had it for about a year and no defects whatsoever.

Iron, your probably a little too lean. I can't speak for the Yoshi but my WB header glowed last year at Glamis after repeated runs up Comp at night. Found out it was a jet size lean. It ran great that night, but thats what they say, little lean = HP
too lean = re-build
too lean = re-build

Today I went through four new main jets and found that the 150 I'd been using was perfect. So, I called Denton where I got the pipe from and they said that the glowing hot pipe is normal as long as it is only a few inches long and near the cylinder. Who would have known! Stainless man....

Wonder why my stainless pipes don't glow? I mean I hear that all the time, but I don't get it.
Kinda spooky considering steel glows red close to 2000 degrees, and the aluminum melts around 1200!
