Which rev limiter if any.....
#1
I was wondering which rev limiter, if any, would be best for my Baja. I have it piped, jetted, and breathing well. All else I will probably do....for a while anyway, is a rev limiter and carb. This should take care of most all of the Raptors..... You there 14mins??? LOL! If so, see ya Friday!

I have the Ron Wood CDI. It and the Pami CDI are the same, both with no rev limit, both advance ignition timing througout rev range further than stock box. Graydon CDI has rev limit - 9300 I think. Alba didn't used to have a rev limit, but I heard they do now - don't know for sure. Don't know about timing of Alba or Graydon - I've been told they are advanced, and they probably are, but neither company could confirm to me on the phone so I bought the RWR.
Don't worry about not having a rev limiter - you can tell when you're too high, and if you miss a gear in a drag the bike will only rev so high before you let off the throttle a split second later. A tach helps, but eventually you recognize the sound of the rpm so well you don't look it much anymore. Just get a kill switch in case a wipeout pegs the throttle wide open with the wheels off the ground (grenade).

After much thought I decided to go with the RWR. That seems to be the popular choice on here and now I know why. That is the best mod available in my opinion. Get piece of equipment. Get the RWR you will not be disappointed.
I don't have my tach yet( back ordered ) but I still want it. Like HT said you get used to the sounds and know when to shift. I would like to have it mostly for when I let my friends ride, I'll tell them to keep there eyes on it. Plus it never hurts to be able to look down and know where your at, to see if you can pull a couple more RPMs out of the beast.
Plus is looks cool.
