oil cooler fan not working on grizz
#1
I went for a ride yesterday got stuck, screwed my winch up (warn 2000lb) kept trying to get out of the hole and the oil light came on but no fan came on. I am going to check today but has anyone else had any problems with a 98 grizz doing this

Well it turns out it is infact the fan is shot Does anyone know a goodm place in Canada to buy parts online? I have been looking with no luck. I found a place to get oem but it was over $200.00 American. Also where can I get a winch cable for a warn 2000lb

There isn't much to ANY 12 volt DC motor. Just an armature (round metal cylinder) and the brushes (carbon pieces with wires connected to them). I would pull the motor apart and inspect these parts. If necessary lightly sand or polish the armature to clean it up.(it should be reasonable clean and smooth). Or you might have some broken brushes or brush holders. All of the brushes should be in contact with the armature. This would defenitely be worth your time. The starter went out on my friends big bear. I pulled it apart and a brush spring was broken. We found a similar sized spring in his toolbox put it in and the starter was fixed. Hopefully you will have similar luck.

You can get that cable at almost any logging supply shop, or industrial parts store, I found with my 15' strap I never needed the entire length of cable supplied so I went with a thicker cable 5/16" and 10' shorter. Just an Idea. ( loggers sell the galvanized cable at wholesale so it's about half price)

UPDATE: the motor can come apart where I thought it was welded it was just sealant 4 bend over clasps on the back and remove the sealant and you are in there. One of the brushes was sticking so it wouldn't go out far enough. It's a good thing I was able to get it apart as the new one costs $407.00 Canadian. I almost fell over when I heard the price
Thanks for the input guys
