How do you adjust the shocks on a 2002 Big Bear? I weigh over 275 lbs and I think I should probably stiffen the shocks up, what do you guys think? It makes it look really easy in the book, just turn them to like D or something. How do you adjust these and what should I set them on? Most my riding is on trails. I am leaving tomorrow for a 2 day trip so any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Mike

Altho I'm not familiar with the Big Bear or it's suspension, I have to assume, like most other utility quads, the shocks have only a preload adjustment which allows for unusually heavy load compensation, but not compression or rebound adjustment.
Most Quad manufacturers offer a special tool for adjusting the preload, but Whenever I had to add preload I used a pair of 12" Channel Locks and they worked fine. A cloth can be used over the adjustment ring to prevent scratching. Turning the ring counterclockwise (to the right) compresses the spring & adding preload up to 5 settings. I'd try just one notch from the minimum and test ride, the add another if needed.
