Well, here in southern Cal it is HOT in the desert and I have been lagging on breaking in my 686. I was also waiting for my main riding partner Jeff to get his 440ex motor back from Trinity. He was jealouse and stepped up! I also had a setback and panic over the F'n Barnett clutch issue.

Anyway, we are both done with break-in we are both STOKED!! Harry actualy called to check on our progress. Impressive customer service!

At 3,500 ft. I ran 180/185mains and needle in 3rd slot with stock headpipe and HMF slip-on and 2 k&n's no air box. I was fat on the top end but when I hit the dunes late next month through April of 2003 I will pull the spark arrester and raise the needle to the 4th slot and be dead on at sea level!!!. plug

Jeff's 440 ran perfect with dynojet mains & needle (forget size) k&n, no lid, stock headpipe, Big gun slip-on.

440 & 686

We both feel that the pipe/filter/jetting added x HP....the motor work added X+ HP on top of that!

Now all we need is 1 more gear!!!!!

the CR480 re-bore should be ready soon too!!! yee haw!

You Californian's need to come East and try a good ole' muddy Ohio/Indiana trail. Ha ha

It will make you really appreaciate having a good pressure washer.

Congrats Dude!! (I already knew it, I just thought I would give you a shout out).

<< You Californian's need to come East >>

ahhh, indeed that is the question...

I think this would make for an intersting, very intersting topic, East coast riding areas VS West coast riding areas. As far as places in Southern Cali i think we have it great here, other then we can't ride out from our driveways, BUT never the less drool.... please refer to the links below....

Glamis, California...... need i say more? click here!

Redlands, Cali.

Tecate, Mexico, just south of the border...

damnit, i have some of the Palm Springs, Glen Helen, San Ber., Gorman, but can't seem to find them, o well

enjoy!

eman4000,

Have you ever been run off from the Redlands riding area? I've seen some of the trails from the fwy but never thought to try and ride there. The fun police have always run us off from any place not designated a OHV area.

Yes, I am drooling............But you guys need to get some mud on them frames and then have your head pipes stained up because you just baked some clay on them.

But seriously, you guys have it pretty good. I don't think I would care for the 100+ tempretures though. Wow!!

BlueLeader has extended me an invitation to come and see Glamis. For every one reason that I had that I couldn't make the trip form Ohio, he gave me two reasons why I should. I am going to have to take him up on that one day. I'll wait till the snow is flying here. Just to give you a visual of how deep in the styx I am...........I have Amish neibors with horse sh*t in the road!! Have you ever tried to dodge a pile of horse crap at 60 mph???? It's not pretty!!

I WANT TO MOVE TO CALIFORNIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

wshrdskin, i've only been there a couple of times and never had a problem with the Man there at that spot, i actually talked with a neighbor that lives around there and he told me they been ridin there for years. i don't go there to much as it's rather small and not worth unloading the quads there, i prefer traveling another 20 mins east to the open desert.
