Blueleader,
i haven't been up there (north Burbank) myself but my ex-girlfriend brothers would aways tell me about that area. i don't know much about it other than you drive up Osborne northbound a few miles and i belive u pass a shooting range then the street ends, there you should see the trails. the only reason i asked is cuz it's only about a 20 min. drive from Santa Monica right up the 405 fwy. i'd be fully down for a early morning or late afternoon ride as it's hotter than a ***** come noon time.

I spoke with the rangers in the area and it is ok to ride on the fire road system. The gates are locked and riders must first visit a ranger station (they don't open until after 8:00), tell them where you want to ride, buy a permit, then they will give you the combo for the gate locks. That is Kalifornia for you!

Blueleader,
wheres the Ranger station in that area? you still have there number? that's kinda how (combo lock gate)it is on the old Rincon trail that heads out from Azusa Canyons over towards the 2 hwy in Glendale, i heard it takes 2 hours to travel through and that's there's hunting alowed when in season. gotta love having trails nearby in Los Angeles.

Greg V I'm feeling you on the whole dodging the horse crap LOL, been there done that.
I'm also feeling you with the mud issue, but honestly I think there is some great riding around the area. We need to hook up and do some riding. The one thing that I love is when you can gag someone on a big 4x4 by taking your 2wd raptor through some hole that you normally would have to swim through.
We were riding out on a pipeline near the house and this guy on an Artic Cat was building a bunch of drama up about this hole and finally got all of his buddies to convince him to go through the hole... he was standing next to his bike getting pats on the back about making it through when I split the hole wide open. LOL
(And before any of the 4x4 owners say it yes I know you CAN go through some holes that I can't, but a 2wd bike will go better than people think)
Ow yea and God bless the pressure washer
