Hey all, I am purchasing my first ATV here in a few months. I have ridden my friends' 660 Grizzly,Raptor,Suzuki LT80,and a little old 86 Honda Fourtrax 125. I am kinda small built for a 13 year old (5 foot,100lbs), and I don't crave anything really fast and expensive. I was wondering what would be the easiest to maintain, cheap, and fun to ride. I have narrowed it down to a few of em. I AM not going to buy a new 4wheeler, thats just to expensive for me, so I am also looking for cheapness of reasale value. Well, here are my choices-

Honda 250EX-All features wanted, but heard stories of week axles and such ,also a little expensive
Yamaha Blaster-Cheap price,but I don't like features

What would you suggest I purchase. If not any of these, do any of you know a 100-250 cheap, good 4 wheeler I could get? I'm going into highschool in a year, so I want something that I won't grow out of. Help is very appreciated

Don't knock out a Blaster on your list. It is the most bang for the buck. Plus you can probably find a brand new 02 for about $2300. Other than the kick start and no reverse, they are a fun quad.

Yes the 250ex has more features but you really wont miss them to much. the blaster is all around better and able to modify a ton more. Also stock wise the blaster is faster, jumps better and now will have good brakes.

Yea a blaster is a awsome bike aside from the brakes, the parts are pretty cheap too my friend rebuilt the whole top end for under $200. Plus you can usualy find the part you are looking for on ebay for cheap. Performance parts for it are also on the less expensive end of things also.

if u get a 03 blaster they come woth hydro disk breakes. have u ever thought about the honda recon? Same engine as the 250ex!i rode it and it was not bad. Then ther is the Yamaha beartracker. Not a bad machine eather. the only prob with the blaster i see is that u have to be able to work on them.

go with the blaster! I just bought a 03 blaster myself and am 5'4 100lbs and it is great. I can get alot of air because of the "industry leading light weight", and can get up to about 57 mph. If you want more speed, then there are alot of not too expencive things that you can buy to add om some speed! I hope I have been of some help!! Have fun and good luck!

The blaster will be alot better for you. Dont get an 02 unless you get a very good deal. the 03 has the new brakes and looks.

My friend had one for 2 years and did nothing but ride it, never a problem, didnt even adjust the chain. When he needed to adjust the chain he just went out and bought another LOL
