I thought my Trinity 686 would be a hell of alot more!

Well I've bought a Trinity 686 kit. I have never been more dissapointed. No matter what I cannot get more than 48 hp outta this thing. I thought I was going to see the "63" hp. My friend has a 660 with a port job and a cam with an alien pipe. He beats me every time.
He outwieghs me by about 30 lbs. I can't keep head gaskets in this thing either, I've blown my head gasket twice. I bought the CT pipe with it and still can't get it over 48 hp with the Trinity modifications. 14mins, have you had any of these problems? Someone was telling me that you've had alot of probs getting your hp up with just the Trinity kit. I think Trinity's 63 hp 686 is a farce.
Why do these pipe and Engine modification companies lie? Is it worth it to rush out and rip people off. I've had this machine on 3 different Dyno's. I'm not trying to flame here but my machine is a joke amongst my friends, I talked it up so much before I got it back. I've been eating crow ever since. My friend Bill has a Trinity Raptor and he has been having the Same issues. 14 mins, are you having this problem please let me know. If so I'm just gonna get a new head and have someone local shop do the porting and polishing.

Did the co you used to do the dyno work ever dyno a stock Raptor? I, myself don't pay much attn to dyno numbers, they varry to much. The percentage of increase would be something to better to look at but you would of had to dyno a stocker at the same time as yours.

Guys, why does any of that stuff matter about the dynos?? He is being beat by his buddies Raptor with a cam and a pipe! Sounds like something IS wrong here. I'm sorry that I can't be of any help.... but something can't be right with the bike.
The port job may be bad. Whomever did this work, could have messed up the "atomization" of the thing. The gas and fuel may not be mixing together well. It's not that hard to frig it up if you don't know what you're doing.

Jack, I would like you to call me on Monday and we will talk about this issue. I would like also to hear from all of the people we have done 686 kits for, to see If this is actually problem. Because I am not getting allot of people calling with this performance or reliability problems at all. Please lets set the record straight here, as far as Hi Performance motors go, I believe that our 686 kits are the most reliable on the market. I would like to here from the people that own these kits and get there opinion, good or bad. But to make it fair I would also like to be able to verify that the engine was actually assembled by us or that it was assembled by the customer ( possible cam timing issues or torque problems ). I will also private message anyone that has had a problem with there kit so that I can verify that it was actually done here. As most of you that have had motors done by us will verify I am a very hands on kind of person and handle most, if not all of the problems myself, and I have not had many of these calls considering the amount of Raptors we have built. But any problem that a customer has is always addressed in a professional manor.

Just my veiw on Harry and his team, my experience with Trinity, and providing the info you (Harry) requested.
I had a Trinity 686 for about 6 months and I felt it was worth every penny. I had one of the early 686's so it was mild in comparison to what some of the options that are available to the builds are now. Never had any head gasket problems and the motor itself met my expecations.
I did have a problem though. Unfortunately, I had the connecting rod fail after approx 200-250 hours use. This could have been caused from the tranny failure I had previous to the 686 install or it very well could have been a poorly manufactured rod from Yamaha. I really believe it was a poor mfg'ed rod, as I have now had a hand full of buddies that have had their rods fail with just a mild cam and stock bore 11:1 comp piston upgrade.
None the less, Harry exhausted all avenues to make it right. Yamaha wouldn't stand behind it, even after having this rod for testing purposes etc. for over 3 months. Just for them to come back and tell us that they wouldn't help me with the repair (I didn't expect them to, but it is always worth a shot). Harry did help me ALOT MORE then I ever expected.
Because of the help Harry offered to me and because I was happy with the 686 prior to the rod failure, I went to Trinity for another Rap motor. I have to say that Harry, Jimmy and the entire Trinity team are all stand up individuals.
The new motor is awsome!!! Although it hasn't been ran real hard yet, there is no question in my mind that the "new motor" is going to exceed my every expectation. The first real test will come Labor Day weekend.

p.s. Harry, I do need to speak with you on Monday regarding some of the FCR set-up issues for dial in.
