For september 12 I think honda should put reverse on the new 400ex's. I do trails and the reverse problem was the only thing that made me get a 300ex and i bet other people have done the same. They should switch the 250ex handlebars because they are utility bars and are very high and bent up. They should also lower the seat of the 250 and 300ex to make them more stable and decrease turning radius of a 300ex. Those are my 2 cents in and they would sell a lot more quads without those problems.

I think that might be a good idea. They should also put an electric start on the 90. Then, add a 450ex, w/ chromoly frame, widened, lengthened, and not tuned down like a mother, maybe a little, Then, a 650ex, with 16 in. of travel, wide, longish, and tuned up.

i think honda should give the 250ex the 300's suspension and give both the 250 and 300 the 400's tires. balloons suck.all of the models should get liquid cooling as well, especially the 400. to save weight, maybe they could make the models kick-start too.i'm willing to sacrifice electric start for liquid cooling

They should just start building high performance quads again. Not worry about low tech low power quads like the 250EX, 300EX, and 400EX. Start NEW with a 250R geometry frame, A motor woith about 40hp no reverse, kickstart...get back to racing roots not worriying about little beginer quads..

Changing bars would be stupid, you can just buy a set of aftermarket bars instead of another bend of weak stock bars.

All you people keep saying 650EX...they only have about 32hp and are incredibly heavey...you obviously dont understand power to weight ratios...

No need for better suspension on 250EX's they are a beginers quad, when you max out the quads limits after a week move up to a better quad...no matter whta mods you do they will always be slow....

it would be tough to make a motor like that that will sit well with the greenies. they would probably be very sucessful, and when some idiot takes it to the limit and gets seriously injured or dies, guess what they'll do: blame and sue HONDA. it happened in the late 80's and now with the "second coming" of high-performance (but 4-stroke, and enviromentally friendly) quads, it will probably happen again.there are 2 reasons for honda's lack of high-performance quads: the greenies and safety issues. even though honda makes relatively safe and reliable quads, people get stupid and think they're God and do stupid things on quads and/or bikes (ride with passengers, ride dangerously fast, ride while drunk/stoned, ride in the street with off-road tires, the list is endless). THIS is why honda puts on those warning labels. in my town recently, 2 kids on a blaster were riding in an illegal area without riding gear and slammed into a truck. i believe both of them were seriously injured, if not killed. while the majority of riders ride safe and ride in legal areas, the big four companies (Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, and uh....Polaris or Kawasaki, you choose lol) have to make their quads forgiving enough so idiots who dont ride within the laws, regulations AND their own abilities dont get too badly hurt.it's the stupid minority that ruins it for the well-behaved majority.

Well lok at the power C-dales are putting out and the Raptor puts out a decent amount of power...not for a 660 but thats another topic....40hp would be not overly fast..

depending on it's application. Piped and jetted Raptors can put out in excess of 45 hp. but my point is, that's yamaha. they are the only company that didn't chicken out during the late 80's when everyone was attacking makers of 2-stroke engines. they have more emphasis on racing than Honda will ever have. Honda has said they will never get back into ATV racing and that the 400ex is NOT meant to be raced, most likely because of what happened in the late 80's when they were slammed for their 2-stroke "ring-ding" racers and their 3-wheelers. it's a shame because despite their claim that the 400 is not a racer, thousands of racers use them anyway. Why? because Honda is reliable. they are comfortable on the 400 and think it is a nice machine. Just think of the kind of money they would make if they made a new 250r or a 450ex or some other product that was meant to be raced.

I must disagree... If yamaha was for racing why would they keep around a machine with a very peaky power band with poor shocks, bad handling, and a very nose heavy tendency..? And now that come out with yet another poweful yet useless racing wise machine ? On the other hand honda builds a 4 stroke version of a mid 80's quad...whos more race oriented...Honda. Racers don't choose the 400EX for it's reliablity they mostly mod the crap out of the motor which makes them unreliable, they are raced because they have good handling....and are one of the best MX quads. Honda is definatly not scared...they just released a 650 ute quad...Everyone is trying to get into the game...cannondale has really hit it head on...and suzuki has done well too with the Z400....yamaha made a failed attempt with the raptor....Kawasaki and Cat are just along for the ride with the Z, its ashame they couldnt design there own product.
