I've seen a few Ohio folks around this forum. Basically, I'm in the market for a 400ex (selling my 300ex) and I am looking for the best deal. I've heard speak of $1300 off list. Are there any dealers around offering this? I'd even drive out of Ohio for a price like that. Places around me (Columbus) will only give $500-$600 off a 2002 model.

Well I tell you what. I live right on the ohio/pa line. I called a bunch of places in ohio's for hondas, only looking for the 03' models. I called Park cycle, they wanted 5145 for an 03', plus tax, title, freight and set up fee. The only thing I didnt like about Park was the salespitch they threw me on how the deal was only gonna be on until Tuesday and blah blah. I then called J&J motors, they were cocky, wanted $5268 plus tax and title for their 03' models. I asked if they'd match a price and they declined, so I called another. Basically the rest of them wanted a little more and wanted to charge the freight and set up bullsh** so I didnt bother. I called some places in pa, and bought an 03' 400ex for $5100 plus tax. I pick it up tomorrow.

Good luck.

ps. the $1300 off is bogus crap, you'll never see that happen.

The good deals on '02s won't start until middle of October, give or take if its like last year. I know last fall, you started finding '01 EXs for around $5000-5100 out the door about that time. Classic Cycles in C-Bus and a dealership down in Athens if I remember right. ASK and Honda Northwest usually aren't as good about deals from what I have seen.

I think that the $1000-$1500 off is on the leftover 2002's, they needed to blow them out before they started getting in the 2003's. We bought our 2002 for $5100 out the door, which was price, tax and set-up. Every year they mark down whatever they have left before the new ones come in, otherwise nobody would buy a 02 for the same price as a 03.

Up here you'd be suprised at the prices though. Most folks in PA wont budge on their 02's even if they are old stock. The best price you can dig up around PA for an 02' would be about $5300 plus 210 freight, $318 taxes and $55 for title. Thats not a good deal whatsoever. Most dealers in PA insist that the new 03' models dont come out till september. I explained to them that they been out for a few months now and they say thats BS. LOL....gotta love 'em. Where I bought my 03, they have 02's for 4900 plus tax.
