Server or Webhost for Hosting Videos...
#1
Hey Guys,
Still working on the html for my new webpage (which is located in the link in my signature).
I've got a bunch of Videos on a free server already, but I have some more to put on. The problem is some exceed 1mb and most free webhosts have a file size limit way under that. All of the ones that I make myself are under 500kb and most are right around 200kb so finding a server for those isn't really a big problem.
My question is...do any of you know a FREE webhost, server, or storage site where I could put my videos? FTP transfer would be a big plus as well.
THANK YOU!!!
-Josh

Piranha, the new site looks pretty nice - stylish (unlike mine which needs a "style" overhaul). I like the rollover on the thumnails the way the thumbnail gets a bevel when you roll over it.
Anyway, I never found a good host for videos that was free. If your ISP offers some webspace that may be your best bet even if you have to link to the videos from your main site. The problem is that A) videos are too big and B) the couple video hosting sites I have seen that are free are kind of awkward to get around and of course the pop-up ads.
Good luck but the reality is that you really are better off finding an inexpensive web hosting service. I pay $5 a month for mine but they aren't too good. I have unlimited bandwidth and storage but the transfer rate is capped at 300 Kb/S. A compromise I can live with.

Duner,
Thanks for the comments. Still have a bunch of things to do to the site to get it complete, but the basics are there. As for the thumbnails, I cheated. I did them with a software program called Gallery Maker Pro (just search in google) and it builds all of the html for you and everything. You configure it for how you want it to look and all that jazz. Then when you get done you just FTP the html and images to your site and you are all set.
My only complaint with the program is that it runs funky on Windows XP. A few options don't work for some reason. Luckily I kept my Windows 98 hard drive in tact so I just boot to that when I want to work with the program.
I have another ISP account that I can use that has 6mb. It may be enough to get me by for a while. Now that I mention it...I know some other people with that same ISP and they don't use their webspace so that's probably what I will do.
Thank you for the suggestions!!!
