What kind of insurance do i get for 400 ex??
#2
I use Progressive Insurance company. I have full coverage (everything),with $250 deductible and pay I $91 a year ($7.60 a month). It's well worth it just for the peace of mind when I'm towing it, and when it's sitting out on the trailer and I go in a restaurant to eat on the way back from riding. That is for my 400ex. My Raptor is about a dollar or two a month more.
Good luck,
Lorrin

Next to Factory Racing, Progressive Insurance are the biggest crooks in the business. They tried to pull the scam of the millenium on me. Stay as far away from them as you can.
I insure my 400EX through Merkel Insurance for $65 a yr, $250 deductable. Covers theft, fire, and wrecking.

Listen to reconbasher!
My insuranse company asked me why i bought an enclosed trailer. Not thinking, I told them for MX on my quad. He looked at me, "Realllllllyy?" He flipped through some books, read some things, 5 minutes later dropped my quad on the spot. Thats after paying 2 years of coverage. I was a little p.o'ed

Her's what Progressive did to me:
I called them, told them I was looking to insure a 4 wheeled Yamaha Kodiak ATV. The lady asked me all of the needed info to start my policy such as serial number, c.c.s of the motor, and all that stuff. She then quoted me a price, and I informed her that I had taken an ATV safety course, if that mattered, and she said I would recieve a discounted rate if I could give her my cerificate number, which I did. I agreed to go through them, and she said the quickest way to start the policy was to give her a credit card number, which I did. Bingo, I was insured, so I thought.
About a week later, I recieved a call from Progressive's insurance fraud department. The guy started right in, asking if I was aware of the penalties of insurance fraud and so forth, trying to threaten me, in a way. I informed him that I wasn't up to speed on the penalties of insurance fraud, but what did that have to do with me anyway. He informed that I tried to get insurance on a motorcyle, but when they ran my vin number, it came up as a four wheeler, and that I was in deep doo doo. I asked him if I was trying to insure a street bike, why was I getting a discount for having passed an ATV safety course? And also, why did I send them a picture of the four wheeler to be insured, as required by them, and most other companies?
I also asked him if the employees of Progressive Insurance have to pass a drug screening to be employed by them, because I clearly stated that I was looking to insure a four wheeled ATV, and did not try to decieve anyone about the number of wheels the machine had.
After a little back and forth, he told me that they would go ahead and insure the machine, but it would be an additional $240 a year, and they would be happy to run it on my credit card, again. I told the guy that I had no intentions of doing business with a company that does business like they do, and if my credit card was not refunded the full amount by noon the next day, they were in deep doo doo.
That is why I would never do business with Progressive Insurance.
